White Tiger Half Asleep

White tigers are rare in the wild, and their colouring offers little camouflage. White Tigers are the offspring of two tigers of the Bengal or Siberian Tiger species with a rare recessive gene. They are inbred in some zoos and some 8000 are thought to be in captivity in Asia, farmed for body parts or traditional medicines.  Some government agencies and the World Wildlife Fund are working to protect them.  This well cared for white tiger is one of the lucky ones.
