The Power of Thought – Einstein after a photograph by Karsh

One of the best-known photographic images of the last century is Einstein by Karsh.   I have a great admiration and liking for Einstein, and drawing a portrait from the photograph was something I have wanted to do for a while, although it was daunting to attempt to do justice to his towering intellect, vision and compassionate nature.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge.  Imagination circles the world.”

“There are two refuges from the misery of life: music and cats”.

This was a challenging but very rewarding portrait.
